A beautiful evening out at Chase Cellars! My job last night was a little different than usual: all I needed to do was photograph guests out in the vineyard during the reception. Sounds easy enough, right? But challenging when you’ve never met and only have a minute or two with each couple.

As an ice breaker I asked: "describe each other using wine characteristics". There were so many hilarious responses: full-bodied, effervescent, cheap, food-friendly, sweet, complex, intellectually satisfying, luscious, fruit-forward…I was totally entertained and excited at the genuine expressions and connections when they were laughing together. Made my heart happy. People are awesome.

Thanks to everyone who came together to create an especially wonderful night. ❤️❤️❤️

Before our days are filled with homework, pumpkin-spice lattes, wool sweaters and Christmas music I wanted to post one last tribute to summer… 😉

I’ve waited all year to photograph this family in their garden; some of my favorite people in one of my favorite places! No matter what the future holds I will always remember them like this. ❤️🌻❤️

I don’t always get to do engagement sessions with my wedding clients but I’m so glad I did with Roxanna and Ruben.
What a joy to take an afternoon walking through redwoods and hearing all about their excited plans for the future: the newness of things, how they delight in each other.
In a world that can be challenging and cynical at times these two did my heart good. I am so excited to photograph their wedding next month. ❤️❤️❤️

24 hours ago I was swimming in the Caribbean Sea. Look how beautiful that water is!! I could stare at it for hours.

Now I’m home, answering emails, doing laundry and getting back to our daily routine. Lucky for me I’m a total nerd and that makes me happy too.
