Last weekend, one of my favorite guests wasn’t actually at the wedding. Dawn’s sister (and Maid of Honor) was late in her pregnancy and her doctor cautioned her not to fly. But she didn’t let that stop her.

Through the magic of FaceTime, Dana was there to watch Dawn and talk to her as she put on her dress, then she changed into an elegant sequined gown to “attend” the ceremony, and even surprised Dawn later that evening with a pre-recorded speech—the kind only a sister could write.

Listen: Weddings can be huge affairs and sometimes it’s hard to not get upset when things don’t go the way we planned. But it’s often the choices we make during those moments that make the biggest memories and shape our paths.

PS: This story wouldn’t be complete without recognizing Yesenia and Sam from Ooh La La Weddings & Events and Joe from Wine Country Entertainment—especially good people who are great at what they do and can make things like this happen.  ❤️❤️
